How to make sweet chilli sauce from scratch

There’s really no need to purchase sweet chilli sauce in a bottle when it’s so so easy to make your own. This sweet chilli sauce recipe is made up of just eight ingredients and is delicious in stirfrys or when used as a dipping sauce.

This recipe will make enough sauce for two when used on a stir fry. If you want to make a larger batch, it will save in the fridge for two weeks in a sealed container.

  • 2 tbsp Fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp Coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp Rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Lime juice
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Fresh ginger grated
  • 1/2 Red chilli finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Chilli oil

  • 1 tbsp Coconut sugar
  • 1 tbsp Rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Lime juice
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Fresh ginger grated
  • 1/2 Red chilli finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Chilli oil

Instructions
  1. In a bowl or cup, mix the fish sauce with the coconut sugar and stir until dissolved.

  2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.

  3. I used the sweet chilli sauce as a dressing for a stirfry containing: Red cabbage, white cabbage, beansprouts, red pepper, red onion, mushrooms, green beans and chicken. I highly recommend!
